Courtroom nerves seem to disappear when Denis Meadows bares his endearing trademark smile at Noosa Magistrates Court. The Noosa District Catholic parishioner is the co-ordinator of Friends at Court in Noosa and Nambour, a volunteer-run outreach of Centacare’s Prisoner Service.

In an earlier life, the building used by Anam Cara was the convent for the Good Samaritan nuns and we are grateful to them for planting such beautiful roses in the gardens, for us to continue to enjoy even today.
Centacare ReFOCCUS is an educational program for couples in a committed relationship or marriage. The goal of the program is to assist couples to understand and enrich their relationship through reflection and communication.
ReFOCCUS is based on a questionnaire that affirms the relationship, whilst identifying areas of growth and potential change. The couple, aided by a facilitator are encouraged to explore the experiences and issues that are important to them, in their relationship.

Sam, a client of Centacare is a young man with a disability, has gained a huge confidence boost by being given his first real job at a local café. His father David recently posted his sons good news online and the story touched hearts right around the world.
Sam who is 22 years old has been working at the Urban Village Café in Benowa for a few months now and has never been happier. “I wash the dishes, dry them and put them away. Then when I finish I go and ask what else I can do”, said a smiling Sam.
