We provide counselling and a number of therapeutic and psycho-educational programs within community and school settings.

We offer a range of programs in schools for both primary and high school students, and their parents.

These programs help children, young people parents and families with:

Secondary School Program

Engaging Adolescents

A 3 session program for parents of teenage children where parents are taught strategies to set boundaries and how to manage difficult conversations.

Healthy Relationships

We offer a range of programs for young people in schools that focus on relationship skills, sexuality and values, and the development of self-confidence. Our programs are interactive and work with students to explore their social context and to critically evaluate key areas and issues in their lives.

Primary School Programs

1-2-3 Magic Parenting Education & Emotion Coaching

A 3 session program for parents of children aged 2-12 years old. Parents are encouraged to learn to manage difficult behaviour, develop positive interactions, and help their child to identify and deal with their own emotions.

I CAN Children

I CAN Children is a therapeutic group program held in schools for shy, anxious children 3 to 8 years of age.

Topics covered are:

  • friendship skills
  • resilience skills
  • a positive self-image and demonstrated self-confidence.

Kid’s Business, Everyone’s Business

Kid’s Business, Everyone’s Business is a therapeutic program for children in mid-primary school whose anti-social behaviour places them at risk of imminent suspension. The program is held at the host school, which nominates children who may benefit from the program, and addresses:

  • acceptable behaviour
  • living with rules
  • respect for self and others
  • recognising and managing feelings
  • tantrum taming and keeping cool
  • affirming self-worth
  • this program provides support and assistance to parents in relation to their children attending the program.

Cool Connections

‘Cool Connections’ is an early intervention program for year 9 and 10 students. It aims to promote respectful relationships and raise awareness of broader healthy and unhealthy choices, that may result in emotional and physical abuse, texting and social media issues, sexual pressure and intimacy, bullying and bystander behaviours, and making friends and social exclusion issues. This is a free program

Love Choices

Participants will learn about healthy and unhealthy relationships and to understand domestic and family violence. The program is suitable for year 11 and 12 students and can be held at the host school. The program aims to assist participants to:

  • identify the different types of abuse and early warning signs
  • promote healthy and respectful relationships for young people
  • bring about attitudinal change in relation to domestic and family violence
  • encourage young people to not be passive bystanders
  • explore the early warning signs of abusive relationships
  • enhance their personal relationship skills
  • challenge gender stereotypes, attitudes, values and the myths that exist in local communities about domestic and family violence relationships.

This is a free program.
