Child Care - Overview

Centacare Child Care Services (CCCS) was formed in 2005 with the responsibility for managing, on behalf of Parishes, all child care services operating in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Over the ensuing years the mandate for CCCS has expanded to encompass a number of care types.

As of July 2016, we’ve expanded to manage 120 services – 100 Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), 10 Long Day Care (LDC) and 10 Stand-Alone Kindergartens.

Our unique position enables us to work alongside Brisbane Catholic Education, the schools and local parishes.

Our team prides itself on achieving quality care and educational outcomes for all our children from 6 weeks of age onwards to the end of their school attendance.

Approximately 6500 children throughout South East Queensland are cared for daily by a Centacare Child Care Service. Services extend north from Brisbane to the Fraser Coast and south to the Gold Coast.

Being at the heart of local communities enables us to provide your children with the values and skills of being global citizens.

We provide support to families and children by:

  • developing strong connections between family and community
  • responding to each child with care and sensitivity that is empowering
  • maintaining open communication
  • providing education and care that is creative and challenging
  • sharing information and anecdotes about your child/ren’s experiences
  • engaging in shared decision-making
  • embracing family expectations and aspirations.

Environments to facilitate care and education

Each child’s learning is facilitated by planning environments and providing opportunities to explore, create and experiment. Based on observations and knowledge of individual children’s needs and interest’s, educators encourage children to actively engage with their environment, to question, to influence and to challenge.

We aim to nurture learning and fulfil a childs potential in a positive, encouraging and caring environment.
