Centacare’s Kindergartens provide environments for children to learn, play, feel safe and feel valued. Our quality play-based programs help smooth transition to prep and assist with school readiness.

Responsiveness to children is a cornerstone of our quality kindergarten learning program. Responsive programs promote children’s sense of belonging and build a positive attitude towards learning. Programs focus on building foundation skills in literacy and numeracy.

All Kindergarten programs are staffed by early childhood qualified teachers who adhere to learning guidelines aligned with the national Early Years Learning Framework.

Our educators promote learning through:

  • adopting a view of children as active, competent, capable and creative learners
  • holding high expectations and promoting success
  • embracing the diverse social and cultural background of children.

Our child care services operate 10 Kindergarten programs within our Long Day Care Centres and 10 as stand-alone services on Catholic school sites.

Details about our 10 Long Day Care Services that run approved kindergarten programs can be found here.

Our 10 stand-alone Kindergartens have been specially designed and resourced to meet the needs of the pre-prep age group. Our kindergartens have been opened under the Queensland Government’s ‘Kindy Counts’ initiative with the aim to make kindergarten programs more widely accessible to families in the region.
