Centre Director (Child Care)

Centacare Child Care Services, an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, is a leading provider of Child Care in southeast Queensland.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Director to lead our Long Day Care service located at St Luke's Catholic Child Care Centre and Kindergarten, Capalaba. St Luke's is a 76 place service providing care to children aged 6 weeks - Kindergarten. This service is an integral part of the local Catholic community.
Hours: 38 hours/week
Remuneration: Level 6.7 to 6.9 as per the Children's Services Award 2010. $34.6974/hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the delivery of a high quality, inclusive and educational program
  • Manage day to day operations of the service including staffing, administration and financial management tasks
  • Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment
  • Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Promote the service within the local community in accordance with the Vision, Mission and Values of Centacare Child Care Services

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), Advanced Diploma or equivalent in compliance with ACECQA guidelines
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis
  • Consent to being the Nominated Supervisor of the service
  • A strong understanding of the National Quality Framework including National Quality Standards, Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and Educational and Care Services National Regulations 2011
  • Conversant with Early Years Learning Framework & the QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidelines
  • Previous experience in child care service management
  • Effective computer skills including experience with child care management software (QikKids preferred)
  • Proven leadership skills to develop a team of staff
